Former Manchester City chief scout Mick Brown has confirmed Manchester United are considering a move for Chelsea striker Christopher Nkunku in the January transfer window .

“From what I’ve heard. United are definitely interested in him. I’ve heard he’s on their list. And one of the targets they could sign in January or next summer,” Brown told Football Insider .

“He is one of the new generations of players in that he is not a traditional centre-forward. He is not a natural midfielder and he is not a winger. And He is a mix of all three. So when you look at Ruben Amorim’s Sporting Lisbon team. All the forwards are quick, they are fast and they can switch positions as they see fit.”

In Brown’s view, Nkunku would be an ideal signing for United, not only. Because of his raw talent but also his suitability to Ruben Amorim’s style of play.

“He’s one of these modern-day players where he’s not really a striker, not really a midfielder, and not really a winger. He’s sort of a combination of all three,” Brown observed. “So when you look at Amorim’s Sporting team, the forwards are all quick and they play off the back of defenders and put them under pressure. Nkunku strikes me as the sort of player who would fit into that perfectly.”

In fact, Brown admitt that he was highly impress by Nkunku’s skill. Before Chelsea snatched him up. “I watched him play a few years ago playing against Manchester City in the Champions League and he played in that sort of inside-right position. He caused all sorts of trouble for them with his pace and pressing that day. He scored a hattrick. But his team got beaten 6-3. I was stagger at what I saw. He was lethal,” Brown explained.

“They can play in the middle of the field and put the opposition under pressure. For Nkunku, I think he is the perfect player for that tactic. ทางเข้า ufabet He can play anywhere in the forward line.”

For Nkunku, 27, he moved to Chelsea from RB Leipzig last year and has made 31 appearances in all competitions, scoring 13 goals.
